Jesus and the apostles walked in a heavenly mandate toward ministry to the poor.  The Church is called to walk in that same mandate.  Pray for the Church and the poor today!

 > Pray for the Church to have the same mind / attitude that Jesus and the apostles exhibited toward the poor

 > Pray for the saints in your region to have the eyes of their understanding opened as it relates to the responsibility of ministering to the poor

 > Pray for the leaders and those in authority in your region to have a growing burden for the poor

 > Come against the spirit of the age that causes the saints to be self-centered and not God-centered

 > Pray for the saints to have clear understanding of the difference between being poor in spirit and being under the influence of a spirit of poverty (Matthew 5:3)

 > Ask the Lord to give you a vision of how to live a simple life and be a blessing by sowing and serving the poor; to be a giver and not a taker!  God gives seed to the sower (2 Corinthians 9:10)

 > We need to care about the things that God cares about--pray for the saints to walk in His thoughts and ways (Isaiah 55:8-9)

 > Pray for the Kingdom of God to come in power and the poor of the earth get touched by God's goodness like never before

 > Pray for the poor of the earth that they would truly be rich in faith (James 2:5)

 > Pray for all of the great ministries to the poor that are God ordained that they would be properly administrated and be good stewards of the resources they are over

 > Ask the Lord to arrange the leadership of these ministries in such a way so that there would be maximum effeciency and effectiveness

 > Pray for organizations like the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, Feed the Children, and hundreds of others that are giving aid to the poor of the earth that these organizations would be filled with men and women who are Holy Spirit empowered believers who can meet the spiritual needs of the poor

 > Pray for an opportunity to get directly involved in ministry to the poor (Philippians 4:10)

 > Pray that the churches in your region would not be so inward that they forget the command of scripture regarding helping the poor

 > Ask the Lord to connect the philanthropic rich with true God ordained ministry to the poor in Holy Spirit partnership so that the supply and the need can connect

 > Pray that in our day the poor would receive the preaching of  the gospel (Matthew 11:5)

 > Ask the Lord to burden the hearts of the saints for intercession for the poor, for those who are ordained to be in ministry to the poor, and for those who have the ability to help so they will do so

 > Pray for the families that have suffered loss as a result of 9-11, the hurricanes, the tsunami, earthquakes and other disasters that their needs would be met (spirit, soul and body)

 > Pray for a great ability personally to discern the Lord's leading to minister to the poor through giving, serving, going, praying, etc.
